《最終幻想16》的製作人在接受媒體採訪時稱，遊戲的靈感來源十分的廣泛，不僅有遊戲作品，一些影視作品也對遊戲製作產生了巨大的影響。
製作人表示，《最終幻想16》的媒體靈感來自於《權力的遊戲》、《戰神》系列、《黑暗騎士》、《極速追殺》和《刀鋒戰士》等等優秀的影視、遊戲作品，而戰鬥場面的靈感則來源於《新世紀福音戰士》以及《進擊的巨人》。
《最終幻想16》是由Square Enix製作發行的一款，久負盛名的角色扮演遊戲《最終幻想》系列的第16部正統續作。遊戲是以系列遊戲共同的神話故事為背景，並在此基礎上自由創作出的獨立故事。
