据外媒爆料，《神秘海域》新作正在开发中，但开发者不是顽皮狗工作室，将由全新工作室负责开发，顽皮狗会在初始阶段进行协助。
据悉，在今年年初，索尼决定开发《神秘海域》新作，其中开发者是一个全新的工作室，顽皮狗不负责该项目，只是在项目的起步阶段进行协助开发，该项目目前处于初始阶段，所以目前不太可能公布。
更早的时候，有报道称顽皮狗正在为新的《神秘海域》游戏寻找团队，而后称索尼正在组建一个新的开发团队。目前已经证实的是一份招聘启事显示位于圣地亚哥的新工作室正与顽皮狗合作开发一款“备受玩家喜爱的新游戏”。

An actual rumor claims: “Uncharted” will actually be expanded to include a new spin-off. That wouldn’t be surprising because it’s one of the strongest PlayStation brands. However, Sony Interactive Entertainment is said to have opted for a reboot instead of a classic sequel. That would make perfect sense because protagonist Nathan Drake’s story came to an end with the fourth main spin-off. In addition, Sony has allegedly commissioned a new studio to develop it – and not Naughty Dog, where the franchise was created. However, it can be assumed that the dogs will play a supporting role in the development process. Just a few weeks ago, one indicated vacancy to another “Uncharted” part. It was about the “return of a popular brand” that is to be created through a cooperation between Sony San Diego and Naughty Dog. So there might be something to the rumor. One possible idea for the reboot would be to play a young Nathan Drake. Also in the movie from February 2022 we see a young version of the daring treasure hunter. Given the huge success would it not be absurd to orientate ourselves on the newly born film series. However, a completely different character may also take center stage.
