This was stated by Katherine Pope, President of Sony Pictures in an interview with Deadline, in which she spoke about the company’s plans for the future. We have many important intellectual objects. We’re working on God of War, but we’re still in the early stages. I know the game very well, and I’m impressed with what has already been done in terms of building and expanding the world, keeping all the values of the game, but also expanding them so that people who don’t know the game can enjoy the series. When you adapt intellectual property, the challenge is always the same. I think people think it’s easy to work on existing intellectual property, but in many ways it’s harder than coming up with an original idea because you have to know the basic elements of the original work. You also need to know what might work to make a TV show that can entertain and make it stand on its own. In short, Pope doesn’t say much about the series itself, partly because it’s too early to do so.
