As part of this year’s Halloween festivities in GTA Online, Rockstar Games released a new zombie game mode. According to a Rockstar Games insider, it has exploded in popularity. Ever since was leaked via datamining the Bottom Dollar Bounties update, fans have been eagerly awaiting this new limited timed mode for two main reasons: It is set in North Yankton, not Los Santos and it features zombies. Titled the Ludendorff Cemetery Survival, it takes place in the same location as GTA V’s Story Mode mission “Bury the Hatchet”.

Known Rockstar insider Tez2 shared on Twitter early on Friday some interesting numbers about the Ludendorff Cemetery Survival. In less than 24 hours, over 400,000 people played the mode in GTA Online.

Whilst this was a bit of a breathe of fresh air for GTA Online and players enjoyed it, the zombie filled survival was far more popular.

No wonder the community surpassed the challenge target, and led to Rockstar upping the ante to 800 million zombies.
