As part of the event, the best projects of the year are awarded, as well as many new products are presented, plus they tell details about previously announced projects. There have been rumors that the Xbox team might reveal Starfield and Avowed at The Game Awards 2022, but prominent gaming insider Jez Corden has heard otherwise. Gaming insider Jez Corden claimed on the Xbox Two podcast that he had heard conflicting reports about the Xbox’s presence at The Game Awards. According to him, there are “vague rumors in all directions”, including information that Microsoft may completely refuse to showcase Xbox projects on the show. Jez Corden believes that such a position is quite realistic for “regulatory reasons”, meaning that the announcement of new exclusives is now “out of hand” for Microsoft’s gaming direction, against the backdrop of a deal with Activision Blizzard. Recall that at The Game Awards, the Xbox team announced major projects several times. It was at this show that Hellblade 2 and Perfect Dark from The Initiative were presented. The Game Awards will take place this year on December 8th.
