In case you didn’t know, because time sometimes passes too quickly, and we don’t even notice, Nintendo Switch has been on the market for over 2000 days! We are talking about a console originally released in the now distant year of 2017. Interestingly, against some expectations, such is the advancement of its age in the market, it is a console that still sells like hotcakes! However, the Japanese giant Nintendo already has its successor finalized, and of course, ready to be produced. Are we talking about a Switch 2 or Switch Pro? None of that! Nintendo really wants to change the paradigm, with another name. It won’t be a different Super name, but it will… be… Super! Therefore, Nintendo does not seem convinced in using the name Switch for its new hybrid console. Which is strange, since historically, as the names Game Boy and Nintendo DS prove, this has actually been a successful strategy. Nintendo wants to do something different, and apparently on the table, we even have the name Super Switch. The idea is to pass on the idea of continuation, while the consumer gets the idea that it is not a simple evolution, but a revolution. That said, the new ‘Super Switch’ will be backwards compatible with every game ever released for the current Switch, and will try to succeed where the Wii U failed. In the end, the Wii U was also the successor to an extremely successful console, but it turned out to be a flop. Also, what name would you like to see? Switch 2, Super Switch, Switch Advance? Do you have any suggestions? Who knows if someone from Nintendo doesn’t read your comment and even steal your idea! Share your opinion with us in the comments box below.
