EA公佈了一份開發者日誌,介紹了專門渲染《死亡空間:重製版》恐怖氣氛的“Intensity Director”引擎。

Remake creators Dead Space from EA Motives talked about a new system called “stress operator”, which controls the player’s stress level by constantly generating random events. The “stress operator” determines what events the player will experience, as well as how often and at what points it will occur. The system contains more than 1200 unique events and a huge number of their combinations. Changing the sound or lighting, the appearance of fog, steam or enemies – all this overlaps and helps to create really tense situations. The developers wanted the passage of the remake to convey the feeling of an interactive movie. So they paid a lot of attention to the player’s stress level as they move around the ship. This is especially true of the elements of surprise and unpredictability, which lead to emotional surges. So, for example, in one room nothing can happen, and in another room a Necromorph will attack Isaac. Or at one moment the player will hear a rustle in the ventilation, after which the enemy will jump out of there – but at another moment, after another rustle, nothing may happen, and the enemy will jump out when it is quiet around. Thus, one possible event will be made up of five, six, seven components, which will not necessarily lead to the expected outcome. Therefore, each player will receive a unique experience of passing.
