Holding Embracer Group is revisiting its approach to approving its projects in light of the failure of the restart Saints Row. New items will now be selected more carefully, and game authors will have to “justify” the existence of their creations in the eyes of Embracer, focusing on the quality of projects. Information, by the way, appeared in a recent report of the conglomerate, where at the same time its future plans were announced. By all accounts, the cost of developing individual projects has exceeded their financial successes, and the Saints Row reboot may not yet have begun to turn a profit. And these failures, which did not justify the holding’s forecasts, led to monetary losses in the gaming segment on PC and consoles. The relaunch of Saints Row itself received low ratings from critics and players – the project was scolded for unsuccessful creative decisions and all sorts of technical problems. At the same time, Embracer plans to release 94 games for the period of 2023/2024 financial years, 58 of which have not yet been announced. It is possible that now not all of them will reach users.
